Huawei says it will embark on a 5.5G Era next year with 5.5G for mobile, F5G for fixed broadband and Net5.5G for networks. 5.5G aims to provide 10Gbps downlink and 100 billion IoT connections.

has announced that it will launch its full set of commercial 5.5G network equipment next year. Huawei’s Director and President of ICT Products & Solutions Yang Chaobin said the company wants the launch to mark the beginning of the 5.5G era for the ICT industry.

Huawei proposes the concept of the “5.5G Era” which covers not just wireless mobile technologies but an end-to-end solution that covers 5.5G, F5.5G and Net5.5G. Not only it will protect the operator’s previous 5G investments but it will improve network performance by 10 times. According to the tech giant, 5.5G Era would unlock 10-gigabit peak download speeds and gigabit peak uplink speeds to meet increasingly diverse service requirements.
