Minister of Human Resources Steven Sim took to his X account to showcase how he ‘killed 2 birds with 1 stone’ by bulk buying Indian snacks from an underprivileged aunty in Batu Caves in conjunction with Deepavali, to be distributed to his staff at the Ministry of Human Resources .In his video, Steven Sim explained that he had bulk purchased an Indian snack, Omapodi , from an underprivileged woman at Batu Caves to his staff while he distributed the snack to them.
“I bought these from an elderly Indian woman who lives at Batu Caves. Because she is an underprivileged person, her husband has passed away and she works as a cleaner. Even her house rent has been overdue for 4 months,”He then went around the KESUMA office distributing the snack while wishing his Indian staff members a very happy Deepavali.
