The service in England will be televised and streamed online in the U.S. and around the world, starting early Monday.
The service comes after four days. A procession will lead to Westminster Abbey with the queen’s coffin carried on a gun carriage, pulled by sailors rather than horses. British military personnel will line the streets and some will join members of the royal family in the procession.
The coffin of Queen Elizabeth II, draped in the Royal Standard with the Imperial State Crown placed on top. Following the funeral, the coffin will be taken, via Wellington Arch, to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle for a committal service, which also will be televised . That service is to be attended by 800 people, including members of the queen’s household and Windsor estate staff.
At the end of the service, the coffin will be lowered into the Royal Vault and the sovereign’s piper will play a lament.
