For Filipinos outside the UK, the direct pathway to permanent residency is through family sponsorship, usually as a spouse or partner who is either a British or Irish citizen or has settled in the UK; for example, their spouse or partner has indefinite leave to remain, settled status, or proof of permanent residence.The other EU nations offer the same pathways: the work-to-residency route through the blue card — Europe's answer to the US green card.
