Skye Perryman's “dream job” is a complex one even in the best of times. As the general counsel and chief legal and policy officer for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists , the nation’s premiere organization of physicians providing health care to women, Skye leads the organization’s public policy, public affairs, and legal work.
Skye came to ACOG after working at two of the nation’s most prominent law firms where, in addition to her corporate litigation practice, she made time for pro bono work to advance the rights and wellbeing of women and girls. ACOG advocates for access to evidence-based, quality health care for all women and works to support physicians and other clinicians providing health care to women through education, clinical guidance, and advocacy.5 a.m.
Time to wake up, shower, and get dressed. I scroll through my email to see what has come in overnight and check news and social media channels before grabbing some iced coffee from the refrigerator. I also use this early morning time to do a few hours of work and clear thinking before meetings begin.I listen for my 4-year-old son, who wakes up around this time. I am fortunate to have a supportive spouse who often helps with my son in the morning.
