The Rockets are now in prime position after the Nets' recent trade of Kyrie Irving, far left, and Kevin Durant.The end of the Brooklyn Nets’ latest big three did more than shake up the NBA for the second time this week, possibly even creating another championship contender. It brought some clarity to the collection of draft picks the Nets will send to the Rockets.
The championship window would seem shut. But the Nets have filled the roster with reliable, solid starters that will likely keep the Nets from a collapse, as with their previous failed big three when the Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry team fizzled and they went to a full rebuild while similarly owing picks to the Celtics that became the foundation of the team with the NBA’s best record.
