Official figures published on Wednesday are expected to confirm that inflation fell by around a percentage point, to 6.8% in July
Currently, the full basic state pension is £156.20 per week, and the full state pension is £203.85 per week.
Earnings are expected to outstrip inflation for the first time in 14 months in Wednesday’s figures, but could fall back below the rate of price increases by next month. People with no NI record before 6 April, 2016 need 35 qualifying years to get the full state pension.
