Ohio State already has players entering the transfer portal. Will they play for the Buckeyes during the College Football Playoff?
Ohio State linebacker Gabe Powers announced he's entering the transfer portal. Will he play in the College Football Playoff? However, the postseason’s arrival is met by the opening of the transfer portal Monday. Players across the country are deciding if it’s better to leave or stay with the program they’re at.
None of those players took the field for more than 100 snaps on offense or defense. However, Powers has played 172 special teams snaps – second most on the team.“We have to make sure that we’re being fair to our guys but we also have enough depth that we need to go make this run,” Day said. Day doesn’t expect a similar issue this season with the team playing for a national title as opposed to a standalone bowl game.
However, players on CFP teams have a five-day window to enter after they are eliminated from the postseason. That gives Ohio State an opportunity to hold onto eventual departures through the season.
