Many of these frontline workers also talked about how eye makeup has taken on new importance as they face their patients in head-to-toe PPE [personal protective equipment].

The medical masks are also creating a very visual bond between frontline workers: coordinated breakouts. “The masks we wear become humid and trap moisture, bacteria, and dirty air close to your skin. We all have matching rashes and pimples on our chins,” explains Kelli Hardin, a registered nurse in Georgia.
