Houston high school softball rankings: Bad weather limits games around area

Abigail Gutierrez and Pearland face crosstown rival Dawson this week with first place in District 23-6A on the line.The Houston Chronicle’s weekly high school softball power rankings. Rankings are based on overall and recent performances, quality wins, strength of schedule and team accomplishments. Several teams in the Houston area played one game last week because of storms at week's end.The Lady Lions remain unbeaten after defeating Montgomery 12-3 last week.

The Lady Eagles have won 11 games in a row after defeating district rival Baytown Lee 14-3 in five innings last week.The Lady Indians got back into the win column in district after defeating Galveston Ball 8-5. Santa Fe will play Friendswood this week for first place.The Lady Eagles take on crosstown rival Pearland on Tuesday. A win and Dawson stays atop the district standings at No. 1. The Lady Eagles defeated Pearland 3-2 in their last meeting.
