A market update reports house prices are plummeting in some parts of the country.
CoreLogic’s latest regional market update, released on Tuesday, examined Australia’s largest non-capital city regions, finding housing values declined in 18 of the 25 areas.Looking for a new job or job candidate? Post jobs and search for local talent onVictoria’s Ballarat and Geelong also experienced double-digit declines, with house prices falling 11.2 per cent and 10.4 per cent respectively in the year to July.
Central Queensland houses experienced the largest rise in house values, increasing 2.7 per cent, while the neighbouring Mackay-Isaac-Whitsunday region also had a 1.2 per cent increase. “Targeted migration programs tend to focus on parts of regional Australia as a pathway to permanent residence,” she said.
