Production on HBO's forthcoming House of the Dragon Season 2 will not be affected by the ongoing WGA strike.

For the first time in 15 years, WGA has issued a work stoppage on films and television shows. The strike is in response to the lack of progress in the negotiations over studios and streamers’ use of artificial intelligence for screenwriting. In accordance to the strike rules, WGA members working abroad must stop writing on any project that falls within the union’s jurisdiction. This is why some U.S. productions filming internationally might get impacted by the strike.

The series currently stars Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Graham McTavish, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Matthew Needham, Bill Patterson, Gavin Spokes, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Savannah Steyn, and Theo Nate. Season 2 also welcomes the addition of Gayle Rankin, Russell Beale, Freddie Fox, and Abubakar Salim.

House of the Dragon hails from George R.R. Martin, Ryan Condal, and Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik, with Condal and Sapochnik also serving as showrunners. Martin, Sapochnik, Condal, Vince Gerardis, and Sara Lee Hess are executive producers.Maggie Dela Paz has been writing about the movie and TV industry for more than four years now. Besides being a fan of coming-of-age films and shows, she also enjoys watching K-Dramas and listening to her favorite K-Pop groups.
