House Republicans on three committees have hashed out a package aimed at increasing health-care transparency and extending critical health programs — and a GOP leadership aide said the legislation is being looked at for potential floor consideration this month.
In recent months, congressional committees with jurisdiction over the nation’s health policy advanced their own wide-ranging bills. Over the August recess, GOP lawmakers on the three panels — thecommittees — worked to negotiate a package they could all get behind. Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. , the top Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce panel, is reviewing the legislation and will “work to strengthen” it, according to a Democratic committee spokesman.
