Hotdog vendor stabbed in apparent turf-war in San Diego park

A San Diego hot dog vendor was stabbed over the weekend in an apparent turf war between street food sellers, authorities said.

The 31-year-old man was impaled in the back when a brawl involving 10 to 15 people broke out near Petco Park in San Diego on Saturday evening,Witnesses said that tempers sizzled after Los Angeles hotdog slingers encroached on local vendors’ territory after a performance by DJ Duke Dumont. The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The alleged culprit, Yoni Younes, 21, was arrested at the scene.

Police used pepper spray to disperse the crowd, resulting in several people receiving medical treatment from the San Diego Fire Department.Video of the scene shows concertgoers relishing the drama, pausing to watch the aftermath of the fight while grabbing hotdogs of their own. According to CBS8, San Diego requires vendors to obtain specific permits to sell food on sidewalks. It is not known if the Los Angeles vendors were permitted. Share this article:
