Hormati sensitiviti agama: mengimbangi keharmonian di Malaysia
Malaysia sekali lagi digemparkan dengan isu yang melibatkan sensitiviti agama Islam apabila sebuah produk makanan, sandwic “Ham and Cheese,” dikesan menggunakan sijil halal palsu. Pihak Jakim telah mengesahkan bahawa produk tersebut tidak memiliki Sijil Pengesahan Halal Malaysia , meskipun logo halal dipaparkan secara terang-terangan.
Bahkan, ketika era penjajahan British sekalipun, urusan agama Islam dibiarkan berada sepenuhnya di bawah kawalan Raja-Raja Melayu, sebagai pengiktirafan terhadap hak eksklusif umat Islam. Namun, kini, terdapat segelintir pihak yang seolah-olah tidak menghormati semangat tersebut dan mencampuri hal ehwal Islam, sama ada melalui tindakan langsung mahupun kenyataan-kenyataan yang mengguris hati masyarakat Islam.
Insiden stokin dengan cetakan kalimah Allah di kedai serbaneka mencetuskan kemarahan umat Islam. Perkara ini menunjukkan sikap kurang sensitif sesetengah pihak terhadap elemen yang dianggap suci dalam Islam. Sensitiviti agama adalah asas kepada keharmonian masyarakat Malaysia. Campur tangan yang tidak wajar boleh mencetuskan ketegangan, malah menjejaskan perpaduan nasional.
Malaysia, sebagai sebuah negara yang kaya dengan kepelbagaian kaum dan agama, telah lama menjadi lambang keharmonian masyarakat majmuk. Namun, kejayaan ini tidak terhasil tanpa usaha gigih dan pengorbanan dalam menghormati sensitiviti setiap agama, terutamanya Islam sebagai agama rasmi negara. Insiden campur tangan dalam hal ehwal Islam, jika dibiarkan, berpotensi menggugat keharmonian yang telah dibina selama ini.
