The legislator then sounded the alarm on the frequency of law enforcers and military who “seem to be possessed by such brazenness that is causing unease amongst the public.”

Hontiveros also called on the Malacañang to augment its efforts in safeguarding journalists and urge them to continue truth-telling. While expressing hopes for a smooth and fair sailing case, Hontiveros said the interests of Mabasa’s family – who remain rooted in their quest for justice – must be upheld throughout the process.
