Hong Kong, China Daily/ANN, Jan 3 -- Hong Kong has not reported any cases relating to the outbreak of viral pneumonia in Wuhan, Hubei province, Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan Siu-chee confirmed on Thursday.

After a cross-department meeting, Chan told reporters the government would further strengthen surveillance of local cases and update the public every day.

Starting from Friday, there will be an additional infrared radiation detection procedure at Hong Kong International Airport for all passengers coming from Wuhan, Chan said. Those who have relatively high body temperatures might be transferred to public hospitals. At the same event, a representative from the Hospital Authority said so far it had received three cases involving patients who had recently been to Wuhan. All of these were unrelated to viral pneumonia; two had been discharged from hospital.
