According to Honda, the heating pads may not be properly bonded, which would allow the glass to fall out of the casing.
has recalled some Pilot, Ridgeline, Passport and Odyssey vehicles because the glass may fall out of the side-view mirrors.
The recall includes 330,318 model year 2020-2021 Pilot and Ridgeline and 2020-2022 Passport and Odyssey vehicles., “The heating pads behind both side-view mirrors may not be bonded properly, allowing the mirror glass to detach.” The glass falling out, the administration said, will impair visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
“The side view mirror heater pad was adhered to the backing plate with adhesive tape with insufficient adhesive strength, which can cause detachment during normal vehicle operation.” Dealers will replace both side-view mirrors free of charge.
