Honda has retained its position as the top-selling non-national passenger vehicle brand for 11 years running. This success is driven by strong sales of its passenger vehicles, particularly the Civic, which holds an 81% share of the non-national C-segment sedan market. While Toyota leads overall sales due to its commercial vehicle offerings, Honda's focus on passenger vehicles has allowed it to stay ahead in this specific segment.

As Honda doesn’t sell commercial vehicles and pick-up trucks, all of those are passenger vehicles – as such, the brand has maintained its No.1 spot in the non-national passenger vehicle segment, a position it has maintained for 11 consecutive years.

That result puts Honda’s passenger vehicle sales ahead of Toyota’s – the latter’s commercial vehicle sales puts it at, which means that 2024 sales are 2% higher. Since this is the launch of the Civic, the company shared that the desirable model commands a whopping 81% share of the non-national C-segment sedan pie. Rivals would include the Toyota Corolla and Mazda 3.Danny Tan loves driving as much as he loves a certain herbal meat soup, and sweet engine music as much as drum beats.
