One homeowner said she had no idea about the foreclosure until the new owner knocked on her door, telling her he bought her house. Another woman whose husband recently passed away came home to find a lockbox on her door and a note saying her house was going to be auctioned off.

Villella said she had paid their mortgage on time for nearly 20 years, but that the HOA had issued a number of fines. The homeowner said her husband had been wrangling with their HOA for six years over an alleged violation. She thought he had taken care of the issue.and a stroke that she found out the HOA violation had not been resolved."They don't deal with you, they just push you off," the homeowner said. "They make you send everything to them registered. But they don't send you anything registered.
