Home Ministry seeking RM10 million for drug rehab projects

Home Minister Hamzah Zainudin says the issue of drug abuse needs to be addressed using an integrated, multi-disciplinary, mutually supportive and balanced approach between reducing demand and supply. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, September 22, 2021.

THE Home Ministry is requesting RM10 million in special funding from Budget 2022 to work on treatment of drug addicts. Minister Hamzah Zainudin said today this was to prove that recovery is possible, which is a new initiative introduced by the National Anti-Drug Agency to highlight individuals who have received treatment and rehabilitation with the agency.
