The Home Ministry refuted claims by rights group Suaram that police arrested activists who were handing over a memorandum at Kompleks Setia Perkasa. The ministry stated that the participants were only summoned to provide police statements as part of standard operating procedures under the Restricted Areas and Prohibited Places Act 1959. Suaram, however, alleged that activists Sevan Doraisamy and Azura Nasron were arrested for allegedly entering a protected area without authorization. The activists were reportedly at the ministry to discuss issues related to the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma).
