The British actor, who is starring in the new Netflix adaptation of The Gentlemen, says he's borrowed some of his wife's Irish sayings, but he admits he doesn't always use them right
English actor Theo James has said he has picked up some Irish sayings and phrases thanks to his Irish wife - but fears he isn't using them correctly."My wife is Irish, and she obviously loves Ireland, and we love Ireland," he said. "I mean, there's lots of Irish that goes around the family."
He says he has started using the phrase "that's gas", but admits it doesn't sound quite right in his British accent. " sounds terrible. Because it's obviously an Irish thing, that's gas, but I'm like, 'That's a gas. I find that very gas'." Ruth is from Monkstown in south county Dublin. The couple prefer to keep their personal lives private, even thought it can be challenging given their level of fame.
Theo and Ruth met at Bristol's Old Vic Theatre School. The pair both appeared on stage in Man of Mode and were married in 2018.Theo has starred in the likes of the Divergent film series and the popular TV show The White Lotus.
