Developers are seeking Dallas city support for a high-rise transit-oriented development near Southern Methodist University.
The developer is asking for up to $29 million in city tax increment finance district funds to pay for public infrastructure improvements and to provide affordable rental units in the new tower. Crow Co. has been working since 2018 to develop the residential project on the 16-acres of surface parking lots next to DART’s Mockingbird Station. As part of the agreement, Crow Co. must build a 500-car garage to serve the transit stop, replacing parking taken up by the high-rise project.
Dallas’ Economic Development Committee is set to vote on the project this week. And city council would consider the development late this month.
