Firefighters responded to a second fire at a single-family home at 11506 Jutland around 12:45 a.m. They were able to get control of the fire, but not before it jumped to a neighboring residence, said Fire District Chief Philip Quintero. "Typical Houston," Quintero told OnScene TV reporters."Some days it's quiet, some days it's not. I just left the warehouse fire and came to this one, it's keeping us busy. I don't know if it's the weather or what."Firefighters responded to a fire at an apartment building at 10909 Gulf Freeway at 1:07 a.m. Deputy Chief James Pennington told OnScene TV the apartment has been abandoned for over a year before the heavy fire started Tuesday morning.
No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported, but the department did have a rehab unit at the location to keep everyone hydrated due to the heat.
