The 166-year-old structure is in its final stages of restoration work.
Selangor rural development, village traditions, Malay customs, culture and heritage committee chairman Borhan Aman Shah said the 166-year-old structure was important to Klang district and the state’s history.
Klang Municipal Council curator Faisal Datuk Surani said the two-storey building was built by Raja Abdullah in 1856. “From history, we understand that Raja Abdullah and his family lived on the first floor, while the lower floor was used for storing tin ore, mining implements and supplies,” he said. “Not many people know that the building was sold to the British by the sons of Raja Abdullah for 3,000 British Straits Settlement dollars,” he said.
