The vigil began at 7:30 Sunday evening in Mifflintown, Juniata County, a day after a manhunt and gun battle killed one state trooper and critically injured another.The Pennsylvania State Troopers Association is sharing information for those wishing to make a charitable contributions to benefit the families of the two Pennsylvania State Police troopers involved in separate encounters with a shooter in Juniata County.
Trooper Jacques F. Rougeau Jr., 29, who was to mark his third anniversary with the state police later this month, was killed in the line of duty responding to the incident. A procession took place on Monday morning to transport his body to Lehigh Valley Hospital for an autopsy.
