After a dismal first quarter, Netflix hopes to lure back subscribers in May with the return of some of its most popular series.
After a three-year layoff, the ’80s-set sci-fi thriller “Stranger Things” is back for the first half of its fourth season. The gang is in high school now and split up, after Joyce moved her family — including Will and Eleven — to California. But the Upside Down isn’t done with them yet, and a spring-break reunion promises more adventures. Five episodes will drop on the 27th, with the final four episodes of the season coming July 1.
Netflix NFLX, -35.12% also has new seasons of some fan-favorite unscripted series, such as Season 4 of the social-media/catfishing competition “The Circle” ; a new, U.S. version of the Australian hit dating show “Love on the Spectrum” ; and Season 5 of the comforting food/travel show “Somebody Feed Phil” .
Netflix is also adding movies such as “When Harry Met Sally,” “You’ve Got Mail” and “Crazy, Stupid Love” , while “Top Gun,” all six seasons of “Downton Abbey” and all three seasons of “Happy Endings” will leave the service at the end of the month.
