Health Secretary Ted Herbosa formally assumed his post on Monday, June 19, 2023. READ HERE:
The turnover rites coincided with the 125th anniversary of the Department of Health.Herbosa vowed to be a 'humanistic' DoH secretary. He laid out eight priority programs that will center on public health, noncommunicable diseases, emergency preparedness and pandemic-proofing the system.
'We are all public servants here. Entering the government service is a matter of choice. Staying in service for quite a while is destiny,' Herbosa said. Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire thanked the DoH personnel for supporting her as DoH caretaker and vowed to support Herbosa.
