A tour helicopter carrying two Australia ns and three Indonesian nationals has crashed in Bali ’s South Kuta region, reportedly after becoming entangled in a kite string. The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter went down in the coastal area of Pecatu just after 2.30pm on Friday. It is understood the crash unfolded minutes after takeoff from a helipad at Garuda Wisnu Kencana. With the Australia n pair were a pilot, a crew member and another passenger.
Everyone aboard the chopper was “evacuated safely”, Indonesia’s search and rescue agency BASARNAS said. Three of those onboard were taken to a hospital for further treatment. Authorities say a team is being sent to the crash site for further investigation. “The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to two Australians in Bali,” the department said.
