Several states in west Malaysia are experiencing heavy rainfall and flooding, prompting authorities to urge residents to exercise caution and avoid flooded areas. Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Pahang, Perak, Penang, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor have been particularly affected.

Affected states according to the department include Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor, Pahang, Perak, Penang, and Kedah.

Further south in the peninsula, also affected are Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor. Thunderstorms and heavy rain primarily affect the western parts of Malaysia, while East Malaysia is relatively unaffected, according to the MetMalaysia illustration.As before, plan your travels especially in this time of increased rainfall, and plan your journeys if you are, or will be in flood-prone areas.
