MUAR: Continuous heavy rain since 5am Saturday (June 20)has caused flash floods in a few areas here.
Muar Civil Defence Force in a statement said that the heavy rain and the rising tide caused the water level to rise quickly, but no casualties were recorded."Four roads have also been closed off to all vehicles, namely Jalan Bakri Batu 9, Jalan Bakri Batu 10, Jalan Kangkar Senangar, and Jalan Dato Haji Kosai," it said.
The high tide occurred at 8.39am with the water level rising to 1.6m and is expected to subside at about 3pm. At press time, no temporary relief centres have been set up and the agencies involved will continue to monitor the situation.
