A substantial plume of moisture originating from Hawaii will cause showers to form in the North Bay before moderate to heavy rain quickly spreads throughout the rest of the region, Canepa said. The heaviest precipitation is forecast to fall Monday night into Tuesday morning; most parts of the region will see up to two inches of rain, but higher altitude areas including the North and East Bay hills could get up to four inches.
