Two weeks after an overnight deluge caused flooding on Brisbane ’s northern fringe, city residents have again woken up to heavy rain and rising creeks and brooks.The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting more rain across Brisbane on Friday, easing in the evening, and at 6.40am issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the city.That thunderstorm was detected near the CBD and Brisbane ’s northern suburbs, heading west, and was dumping water in already flooded catchments.
In the six hours to 6am, Rosalie recorded 142 millimetres of rain and Mt Coot-tha recorded 135 millimetres. Enoggera Dam was spilling.Flash flooding was affecting dozens of local streets as well as Kelvin Grove Road at Kelvin Grove, Kingsford Smith Drive at Hamilton, Edinburgh Castle Road at Kedron, and Gympie Road at Carseldine.Motorists were urged to take precautions and check the Queensland Traffic website
