We chat with ThePower stars Heather Agyepong (heatha_a) and Toheeb Jimoh (Toheeb_Jimoh) about the evolutions of their characters Ndudi and Tunde in the new PrimeVideo series, their takes on feminism, and the ideal superpower for women:

The Power is a new sci-fi series premiering this month on Prime Video that follows the interwoven stories of several women as a new power begins to awaken within them. Based on the novel of the same name by Naomi Alderman and featuring former True Blood producer Raelle Tucker as showrunner, The Power centers on a new skein organ present only in women. This piece of anatomy allows women to produce powerful electricity and, in turn, begins to shift the power balance between men and women.

Heather Agyepong & Toheeb Jimoh on The Power Screen Rant: In The Power, Tunde is one of the few male characters who views women's newfound ability in a more positive, progressive light. What kind of evolution do you feel like your character went through over the course of the show in terms of that kind of feminist perspective?

I think the teaching is in the new places that he goes to; he goes to Riyadh in Saudi [Arabia], he goes to Eastern Europe, and he goes to America, and through that journey he figures out the potential that this thing has as a power for good. Heather Agyepong: I think it made her see the negative side and the potential violence of the Power. I think what's really beautiful is that power in general isn't good or bad, it depends on whose hands it's in. So I think it was a really good illustration to see the ambiguity of power. I think it also started a trajectory about what her own will and what her purpose was in a really beautiful way.
