First of two tranches of SLEX toll rate adjustment to be implemented later this week
Heads up to motorists who will be traveling along the South Luzon Expressway later this week. The Toll Regulatory Board has just approved toll rate adjustments for the expressway.
Effective November 3, 2023, the toll rates along SLEX will increase for the first time since 2011. This comes after the TRB approved the Petitions for Approval of Periodic Toll Rate Adjustments for 2012 and 2014. Recently, San Miguel Corporation SLEX Inc. and the Manila Toll Expressways Systems, have notified the TRB that they intend to implement the collection of the subject toll rate increase.
But in order to protect the public that uses the expressway, curb the existing inflationary situation, and mitigate the impact of the toll rate adjustments, the TRB has directed SMC SLEX Inc. that the toll rate adjustments be implemented in two tranches. The first one will be implemented this year , while the second tranche will be imposed next year in 2024.
Beginning on November 3, Friday, motorists traveling from Alabang to Calamba, Laguna will have to shell out an extra PHP 10 for Class 1, PHP 20 for Class 2, and PHP 30 for Class 3 vehicles. On the other hand, those traveling from Calamba to Sto. Tomas, Batangas will have to pay an additional PHP 4.00, PHP 6.00, and PHP 8.00 for Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 vehicles, accordingly.
