Collingwood will meet on Wednesday morning to determine what price they would require to release premiership forward Jack Ginnivan to Hawthorn on trade deadline day.
Collingwood will meet on Wednesday morning to consider what they would require to trade contracted premiership forward Jack Ginnivan to Hawthorn after it became clear on Tuesday afternoon that the 20-year-old was exploring his options following the Magpies’ decision to recruit Fremantle’s Lachie Schultz.
Collingwood are aware that, after recruiting Schultz from Fremantle, opportunities may be limited for Ginnivan in 2024 – even though the controversial goalkicker has kicked 58 goals in 42 games so far, including slotting 40 goals in 2022. He played as a substitute in the first two finals but started on the ground in the grand final,“He’s not requested a trade, but there’s been discussions on what is best for Jack,” Ginnivan’s manager John Meesen said.
Carlton gave up Dow, future third- and fourth-round picks, and gained a future third round tied to Essendon, a future fourth round tied to the Dockers, and the Bulldogs’ future fourth-round selection.
