KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit eased further in early trade on Friday in the wake of strong economic data supporting the US dollar.

KUCHING: Some 1,000 local and international media practitioners have begun gathering in Kuching to enliven the celebration of 2024 National Journalist s' Day from Saturday.

The festivities will kick off on Saturday with the ‘Jelajah Hawana 2024 Bersama Siswa’ programme at the Sarawak State Library, attended by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil. Another major attraction is the Hawana 2024 Exhibition at the Main Atrium of the Plaza Merdeka Shopping Centre here, which will also run for three days starting Saturday.

Participating agencies include Bernama, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit, TVS, Radio Televisyen Malaysia, Finas, the Information Department, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission , the Sarawak Tourism Board, and the Kuching Division Journalists Association. They include the Borneo Cultural Museum, Darul Hana Bridge, Dataran Ibu Pertiwi, followed by a high-tea and networking session at the English Tea House & Restaurant.
