After three children in Harrisburg were shot and hurt, city leaders have come together to try and stop the violence.
On Friday, they announced the creation of a group called the “City of Harrisburg Parent Task Force” to help address the issue. The task force will include Mayor Wanda Williams, Harrisburg Police’s Community Policing Captain, the Public Safety Committee, and the Harrisburg School District. It is meant to give parents an opportunity to voice their concerns about their community directly to the city and school districts.Martin Wise, a Harrisburg resident, said, “It’s about time the parents need to get involved and say let’s nip this in the bud.”“It is a little something that we can do to offer ourselves up to parents to let them know we care. We want to be able to listen.
