PETALING JAYA: Harimau Malaya memerlukan perlawanan ‘kelas A’ yang dilihat mampu meningkatkan kualiti permainan skuad kebangsaan terutamanya apabila beraksi menentang lawan dari Asia Barat.

Terdahulu, penantian 11 tahun skuad Harimau Malaya untuk menjulang Piala Pestabola Merdeka berakhir apabila merekodkan kemenangan 1-0 ke atas Lubnan di pentas final Pestabola Merdeka, kelmarin.
