Hari Raya: Public advised to prioritise electrical, gas safety

The music-streaming service Napster has sold for US$207mil (RM915mil) to the tech firm Infinite Reality.

PUTRAJAYA: The Energy Commission reminds the public to prioritise electrical and gas safety ahead of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

"If the RCD is functioning properly, it will trip, immediately cutting off the electricity supply. If it does not work, seek the services of an electrical contractor registered with ST to replace it," read the statement. The commission also urged the public to only use electrical appliances and decorative lights with the ST-SIRIM safety label.

The public is also reminded to avoid overloading electrical sockets by using too many appliances at once. Additionally, festive decorations should not be hung on electric poles, and mobile phones should not be used while charging.
