THE United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, through their respective ambassadors to Manila, expressed concern over the 'dangerous conduct' in the South China Sea (SCS), particularly the harassment by China of Philippine vessels.
The ambassadors turned to Twitter to call for order in the SCS.UK Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils on Monday said London 'is concerned by continued reports of dangerous conduct towards Filipino vessels in the South China Sea.''The United Kingdom stands steadfast in its commitment to international law, in particular Unclos , in the South China Sea,' Beaufils wrote on Twitter.Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines David Hartman on Sunday expressed the same concern.
The US said it stands with the Philippines in the face of China Coast Guard's 'continued infringement' on freedom of navigation in the South China Sea.The US State Department, in a statement on Saturday , said Washington 'continues to track and monitor these interactions closely.
