Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh's 2014 memoir, 'Becoming Hannah: A Personal Journey', has become more popular than ever despite facing hundreds of police reports. Allegations claim the book promotes Christianity and aims to turn Malaysia into a Christian state. Yeoh, however, asserts that the book is simply a personal account of her journey into politics and calls the accusations defamation. She has actively used social media to promote the book, sharing positive reviews and showcasing its reprint success.
Previously, we shared how a total of 182 police reports have been lodged against Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh’s now-controversial 2014 book, “Becoming Hannah: A Personal Journey”, as of 8 January.
Well, despite the hundreds of police reports against the book, it seems that the memoir has become more popular than ever. Sharing a review of “Becoming Hannah: A Personal Journey” by Malaysian lawyer Daniel Teoh, Yeoh asserted,Yeoh’s cheeky responses to the allegations against her and her memoir Meanwhile, in one Facebook post, she cheekily used the hundreds of police reports against the book to promote it by sharing a post by indie bookstore and publisher Gerakbudaya about a promotion on purchases of the book.Besides that, Yeoh also shared a post by Facebook user Rozhan Othman, who stressed that he is still a Muslim after reading Yeoh’s memoir and was not confused by it.
