” , Gadsby’s debut special, premiered in 2018 and went on to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Special in 2019; the live show had previously won Best Comedy prizes at both the Adelaide and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. Following its Netflix premiere, the special was praised for its topics of same-sex marriage, autism, art history and the dominance of men in the field of standup comedy.
