Half of Phoenix's City Council seats up for grabs in election, including contest to replace DiCiccio

Eight people are vying to replace Phoenix City Councilmember Sal DiCiccio and three hopefuls are challenging Carlos Garcia in Tuesday's election.

and the influence that labor unions carry.

All of this comes while the city must also grapple with broad issues such as water management, climate change and affordable housing. Mayor Kate Gallego has endorsed Robinson in District 6 as she looks to build a more centrist majority on the council. More progressive councilmembers Garcia and Betty Guardado have endorsed Wilson; more conservative DiCiccio has endorsed Stone.
