A Hale County sheriff's deputy is charged with one count of domestic violence-strangulation.
A Hale County sheriff’s deputy was arrested on domestic violence charges following a domestic dispute in Tuscaloosa early Tuesday morning, authorities said Wednesday.
Tuscaloosa County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in the Taylor Wood area of Tuscaloosa around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. said Capt. Jack Kennedy of the sheriff’s office’s Violent Crimes Unit. Authorities determined the Hale County sheriff’s deputy, identified as 36-year-old Joseph Allen Nail, was involved in a physical altercation with the victim, said Kennedy.
Because Nail is a law enforcement officer and because the allegations against him were serious, the Violent Crimes Unit was asked to head the investigation, Kennedy said. Following the investigation, Nail was charged with one count of domestic violence-strangulation and taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $15.000 bond.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
