The model is raising awareness regarding her PFO diagnosis following her health scare.
It has been one year since Hailey Bieber was hospitalized with stroke-like symptoms, and the star marked the day by sharing resources on her condition.
The model and Rhode founder reflected on the serious health scare in a series of Instagram stories. In the posts, she re-shared thewhere she opened up about the experience, followed by helpful information about her diagnosis with patent foramen ovale , a heart condition in which a passageway exists between the left and right side of her heart.
"Can't believe it's been 1 year since I suffered a mini stroke that led to my PFO diagnosis," she wrote. "Given that it's the 1 year mark from such a life changing event, I wanted to share all the information I've learned about PFO and share resources to donate."According to infographics by UCLA Health, PFO is a "passageway between the left and right atria of the heart," which exists in everyone before birth but eventually closes.
