WEATHER ALERT: Landspout, pea-sized hail possible from Thousand Oaks to Oxnard, National Weather Service warns; residents urged to take shelter
As a new storm system soaked Southern California, the National Weather Service was warning it could bring landspouts and pea-sized hail.
The first band of heavy rain moved across the region during the morning commute. The rain was on-and-off during the day but was expected to get heavier again in time for the evening commute.A flood watch was issued for most of the Los Angeles area through Wednesday afternoon and a wind advisory will be in effect for most of the region from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday.
A high wind warning for Orange County coastal and inland areas will go into effect until 10 p.m. Tuesday.The valleys and Inland Empire will also see some showers with the chance of lightning strikes. The region could see between 2 to 5 inches of rain. Conditions will be windy with a high of 60 degrees. The low temperature will be 47.
