Grab-led digital bank GXBank has now added DuitNow QR support, a feature that's much anticipated by many users, to its mobile app that's available on both iOS

Grab-led digital bank GXBank has now added DuitNow QR support, a feature that's much anticipated by many users, to its mobile app that's available on both iOS and Android platforms. With this, customers can now conduct payments by scanning compatible QR codes, as well as receive money by displaying their personal code to payees.

However, the bank notes that the new feature is currently being rolled out in stages, so some users may have to wait a bit longer. And it is also advisable for you to update your GXBank app to the latest version in order to use it once it is available to you. The DuitNow QR feature is accessible via the app's home screen, represented by the 'Scan QR' button on the upper row. As with other banks, take note that transaction limits are in place for the feature, with the default set at RM1,000 per day that can be adjusted to a maximum of RM5,000. Additionally, the limit for peer-to-peer or bank transfers is defaulted to RM5,000, which you can manually set to a maximum of RM50,000.

GXBank explains that it does not charge any fees for DuitNow QR-based payments. However, bear in mind that transactions done through this method are not eligible for the unlimited 1% cashback that's currently offered for payments made through GX Cards. In addition, GXBank also shared that it will introduce a referral program next month, which will reward users with cash for getting friends or family to sign up with the bank. The month of April will also see it introduce high cash returns through its Savings Pockets feature for a limited time from 10 April to 9 May 2024, in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
