The suspect in a shooting attack in Marawi City used a town ambulance to stage the crime, according to Jun Veneracion’s report on “24 Oras” on Thursday.
Authorities were able to trace the motor vehicle through its markings and found it was owned by the Ganassi town. It was supposedly driven by suspect Ansary Marohombsar — a former municipal councilor — who has since been at large. Baniaga identified the victim as Joseph Alindo Saragena but an investigation showed he was not the assailant’s target, but the person beside him.
Police Major Alvison Mustapha, spokesperson of Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office, said the suspect could have thought of using an ambulance because the vehicle could not be flagged down.
